Old City
The old city, also more popular as the Pink City, was constructed by Sawai Jai Singh II, and all stone structures were colored pink to show hospitality towards the Prince of Wales in 1876. It undoubtedly was terrifically planned and was one of the first planned cities of ancient India to have beautiful air flow and ventilation inside.

This is more of an identity of Jaipur, and the city tour cannot end without a visit to this famous monument. The 5 storied Mahal was built in 1799 by the same ruler as above and is named so for the easy flowing wind through the coupes or rooms inside. The Mahal was built in a special style to allow the women of Royal families to watch the streets, people and exterior world during festivals, etc., while they in turn could not be seen from the streets.
Amber Fort or Amer Fort
To watch this fort, you will have to travel 11 kms from the city. This was constructed by Raja Mansingh in 1592 and later developed by Raja Jai Singh I. The fort shows a blend of red stone and marble stone used in the architecture which is a Hindu-Islamic blend style.
